South of France

From the beautiful cafes lined by cobblestone streets to the explosion of color found in the surrounding fields, no other region of France fires the imagination as strongly as Provence.  The vivid landscape and luminous light have inspired artist and writers from Cézanne to Van Gogh and from F. Scott Fitzgerald to Pagnol.

Field Just Outside Aix
When one recalls Provence, one recalls a world bathed in sunlight.  This image is transformed only when the great Mistral winds temporarily scour the land.  The distinctive winds have shaped a people as hardy as the olive trees, and gives them good reason to embrace life to the fullest the moment the sun returns.
