Simon P. Côté was born in Anaheim, California. From a very young age Simon began drawing steadily. It was a passion that
carried him to study Drawing and Painting at Long Beach State University where he graduated with an honorary art degree.
During his junior year he spent a year studying in the south of France, Aix-en-Provence.
At L’Ecole Marchutz his education focused on two of the great masters, Cézanne and Van Gogh, who often painted the awe-inspiring
landscapes in the region. Literally standing in the same perspectives the artists had painted from, where invaluable lessons
that Simon has carried into his own individual expression.
After graduating he began selling his art through galleries in Florida and La Jolla, California. Simon has had numerous
exhibitions, including the Art Expo in New York (1997) and Los Angeles, California (1993 and 1995) and has his work in
private collections around the country.
Simon has also been an author since 1994. He has written a novel, two screenplays, a novella, and several short stories.
Simon’s diversity of palette, style, and subject matter are remarkable for any sole artist and the future will be a testament
to his passion and rare talent.
